I started looking into the demographics of Woodstock lately, to see how it compares to the Ontario. I was very surprised by the results - turns out, we are doing quite well when it comes to income, education, and jobs. The average household income in Woodstock is $72,771 - the average household income in Canada is $68,000. We also have a high percentage of people in 'white-collar' jobs. The one thing we don't have is ethnic diversity, which you can tell by the lack of good ethnic restaurants!! (Please someone, open up a Mexican place!!)
- Total Population 2010: 37,996
- Total Population(2006): 35,480
- Total Households 2010: 15,615
- Total Households(2006): 14,383
- Average household income: $72,771.00
- Average age: 40
- Top ethnicities: Canadian (15.19%), English (10.45%), Dutch (Netherlands) (3.78%)
- Top job types: White collar (34.73%), Grey collar (25.84)%, Blue collar (38.09)%
One thing that I found really neat was the information about houses:
- Average bedrooms: 2.7
- Movers in the last year:16.15%
- Movers in the last 5 years: 44.22%
- Average Residential Sale Price Jan 2011: $204,432
- Average Residential Sale Price Jan 2010: $225,809
On average, 1 in 8 people have their home for sale!! Crazy!! Also - 68% of people own their home - fabulous!:
